This year (2016) we celebrated 15th anniversary of the International Summer School on the island Šipan, one of beautiful Elafiti islands, that we organize regularly with the NATO Public Diplomacy Division. The Summer School, that dealt with new security challenges and role of NATO, gathered many participants from the region and wider, professors and experts in international relations and international security. This year the Summer School was held under the high auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia H.E. Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, who also participated the School and held a presentation, and also with the support of the International Institute for Peace from Vienna. President of the Atlantic Council of Croatia Prof. Radovan Vukadinović PhD stated that the traditional Summer School has been throughout these past 15 years very efficient in showing young professionals and leaders new thoughts in international relations.
The Elafiti islands, opposite Dubrovnik at the southern end of the country, with the beautiful, sandy beaches, are approx. 20 minutes by boat from Dubrovnik. There are fourteen islands in the Elafiti group. Only three of them are inhabited (Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan).
We already start to plan activities for our next International Summer School and for the following years, therefore follow our news here and on our facebook page to be able to apply for participation.
