ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ATLANTIC COUNCIL OF CROATIA AND YATA CROATIA

“NATO after Cardiff – challenges and perspectives” was the name of the international conference held in Zagreb, organized by the Atlantic Council of Croatia, with the support of Hanns Seidel Foundation, Office in Zagreb. President of the Atlantic Council of Croatia (ACC) Prof. Radovan Vukadinović, PhD, opened the conference and addressed the audience together with the Head of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Office in Zagreb Aleksandra Markić Boban, MSc, announcing topics to be discussed by the panel speakers. The Annual Assembly of the Atlantic Council of Croatia was announced to be held after the conference.

The speakers agreed that due to the Ukraine crisis, NATO has returned to Europe, but everybody thought it would be helpful if in opened its door for new enlargement processes. The discussion continued reviewing Western Balkan aspects, with guests from Macedonia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conclusions can be drawn from the attitudes of panel speakers and the audience that NATO is very important for Western Balkan countries and for keeping the peace and stability in the region.

The Annual Assembly of the Atlantic Council of Croatia was opened after the conference by its president prof. Radovan Vukadinović, PhD, who presented the Report of the activities and plans for the future. YATA Croatia president Rea Poljak, M.A, has delivered the YATA Board report, as well as the president of the Supervisory Board prof. Radule Knežević, PhD. The Steering Committee was resolved of duties and the new one was formed.

The members and participants of the Annual Assembly unanimously re-elected prof. Radovan Vukadinović, PhD as a president of the ACC, and for Vice-Presidents were unanimously elected: prof. Boris Vucelić, PhD and Monika Begovic, MSc. Jadranka Dujić Frlan, PhD, was unanimously elected as a Secretary General of the ACC, and Rea Poljak, M.A., was supported and re-elected to be the president of Youth Committee of the Atlantic Council of Croatia (YATA Croatia).
